This Privacy Policy defines how user data is processed on magneticstorms.co (the "Site"). By using the Site you consent to this Policy. The Site does not require registration or personal data for its core functionality.

2. Data collected

We collect only the minimum technical data required to keep the site fast and useful:

  • IP address (anonymized, last octet removed before storage)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system and device type
  • Preferred language and timezone
  • Referrer URL (where you came from)
  • Pages visited and time on page

We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment data, precise location, or any other personally identifiable information. We do not record mouse movements, clicks, or page heatmaps.

3. Purpose

  • Traffic and behavior analysis to improve the Site;
  • Performance and usability optimization;
  • Aggregated statistics by country, region, device;
  • Abuse prevention (rate-limits, bot detection).

4. Third-party services

  • Umami Analytics - self-hosted on our own server. No data leaves our infrastructure, no cookies, no cross-site tracking. GDPR-compliant by design.
  • NOAA SWPC (USA) - open space weather data (Kp index, solar wind). Fetched server-side; your IP is not shared.
  • GFZ Potsdam (Germany) - official Kp index source. Fetched server-side; your IP is not shared.
  • xras.ru / IKI RAS (Russia) - open geomagnetic data. Fetched server-side; your IP is not shared.

5. Cookies

This site uses only one functional cookie that stores your language preference. Our analytics is cookie-free: Umami uses anonymous session hashes that are not stored between sessions and cannot identify you across visits.

You can disable cookies in your browser at any time - the core functionality of the site and our analytics will keep working without any issues.

6. Your rights

Under Russian Federal Law 152-FZ and GDPR (EU), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data. To exercise these rights contact us via section 8.

7. Policy changes

We may update this Policy. The last update date is at the top. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 14 days.
